Hicap UK was set up in 2005 and got registration from the Charities Commission in July 2006.
Freda Casagrande founded Hicap UK after a visit to the Mustang area of Nepal, where she found that being away from her corporate life that she found an inner peace. She gave up her that life and proceeded to set up an Orphanage in the Pokhara area, after 2 years the Orphanage was able to become independent.
She then decided there there was more work that she could do in Nepal and after visiting the Lamjung District of Nepal she saw a great need for support. Hicap works to educate children in the remote areas, providing the necessary tools to give children the freedom to receive education. During the 17 years of work in Nepal Hicap have managed to support major operations for children that have been life saving. They have also built houses and looked after children that have either been abandoned or are orphans. Every case is treated with care, consideration, and careful planning ensuring a successful outcome.
